Our region prides itself on our growing technology sector. With several large data centers in the area, like Facebook, Apple and Google, we understand the value of technology. Our area schools understand the need to train our residents to be proficient with today’s technology. Starting in elementary school, our students are trained in computer technologies.
Recently, our region has become home to the North Carolina Center for Engineering Technologies. This facility is a higher education effort in technical and engineering disciplines, and it is designed to keep our region up-to-date in regards to technology education.
There are also technology programs at Catawba Valley Community College, Western Piedmont Community College, Lenoir Rhyne University, and Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.
